Between 2010 and 2016 I dedicated entire days to touring the Costa Tropical, in Granada, where I come from. Walking, driving, never knowing where to go, I explored a familiar territory that became strange as the hours went by.

Extensive exploration of this landscape during the hours of peak sunlight intensity reveals a strange drama in which comedy, tragedy and absurdity coexist as in a film piece without a conscious script.

The visible world becomes a scenography. The landscape and the public space are seen as the decor of that stage, objects as props, the people as performers unaware of their own roles.

Costa Tropical is an alternative visual universe of that region. A journey through a sovereign territory, situated somewhere between reality and fiction, record and invention, document and subjective perception.
